Comox Valley Nature meeting
Comox Valley Nature is hosting a BC Nature-affiliated meeting in Courtenay, B.C., on October 27th, from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm. The timing was selected to allow most registrants to drive to Courtenay and return home the same day, if they so desire. We have also planned 3 field trips for Sunday, Oct. 28th, for those registrants who elect to stay over night.
Registration starts at 9:30, and an hour and a half “social” is planned at the venue on Saturday after the presentations.
A schedule with registration, and a waiver is attached. The cost is $35 per person, and includes a light lunch served at the venue, the morning meeting, four afternoon presentations on the Saturday, and one of the 3 field trips on the Sunday. The topics in the floor discussion period in the morning and the expert presentations in the afternoon were selected from the survey responses CVN received from the island clubs this spring, and are felt to be common to all island clubs.
The event is being held in the Evergreen Lounge at the Florence Filberg Centre, 411 Anderton Avenue, Courtenay. This is the same venue where the 2016 BC Nature AGM & Conference was held. The venue has limited seated, and we are encouraging early registration to ensure that each club has a representation.
