July 8, 2024 Ucluelet, Tofino Trip

Eighteen members ventured to the west coast of Vancouver island to enjoy
the wonderful scenery of the Wild Pacific Trail in Ucluelet and the amazing
Aquarium and then onto an immersion into the infinity of Long Beach and
the North Pacific Ocean.
Meeting at the parking area of the Wild Pacific Trail we headed off on the
Lighthouse Loop. Many stops and photos were taken along the way to
appreciate the scenery. Back into Ucluelet, we visited the first class collect
and release aquarium and enjoyed the amazing sea life, including green Sea
Anemones, Orange Sea Cucumbers, Crevice Kelpfish, and Sea Squirts and
many more!
Following lunch the group headed towards Tofino to the one and only Long
Beach, There, we explored and admired the expansive sandy beach and the
vastness of the surf and ocean.
Some of the group completed the drive to Tofino whilst others headed back
to Port Alberni for dinner at the Clam Bucket where we shared stories of the
day. It was about 35 C in Port Alberni, fortunately cooler in the restaurant.
A long and hot day, but an enjoyable one.
