On Tuesday, February 6, nine Nature Nanaimo members went to the Alaksen National Wildlife Area and the Georg C. Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary in Delta. The weather was perfect, and they enjoyed strolling around the trails in lovely sunshine. Birds were plentyful, with the highlight being an amorous pair of Sandhill Cranes. The visit ended with a tour of the Reifel site, and the outing was followed by a lunch in Tsawwassen before the return trip to Nanaimo. Photos courtesy of Helmut Demoulin.”
